Now that the scenery outside is changing into beautiful shades of orange and yellow, the autumn inspiration is starting to bubble up. My husband, a real mushroom fan, shows me the most special species. It’s unbelievable how they can vary in shape, color and size! Sometimes he brings the edible mushrooms home, which gives me new cooking inspiration as well. Cooking and crocheting, I can't get enough of it!

Rosita stola

Recently I designed the new ‘Rosita Stola’. As with my other crochet patterns, this design can vary widely in different colors and decorations. In that way you can make it very personal and customize completely to your own style.

Inspired by autumn, I made a special autumn version of the ‘Rosita Stola’. It became a real eyecatcher due to the warm autumn colors and extra decoration. Obviously I had to put mushrooms on my autumn stola. I would like to share this pattern with you! Of course it has become a three-dimensional mushroom to give extra depth to the whole project.

Free crochet pattern

For the hats of the mushrooms I used Scheepjes Color Crafter nr. 1820 Goes and Color Crafter nr. 1723 Vlissingen. And for the stems: Phildar Looping 1159 Amande and Phildar Looping Craie 1225.

Ch 4 join with sc in first ch
Row 1 — Ch 1, 5 sc in ring, join with ss
Row 2 — Ch 1 and 1 sc in every stitch, join with ss
Row 3 — Ch 1 and alternating 1 sc in a stitch, 2 sc in a stitch, 1 sc in a stitch, 2 sc in a stitch, until end. Join with ss
Row 4 — Ch 1 and 1 sc in every stitch. Join with ss
Row 5 — Ch 1, alternating 1 sc in a stitch, 2 sc in a stitch, 1 sc in a stitch, 2 sc in a stitch, until end. Join with ss
Row 6 — Ch 1 and 1 sc in every stitch. Join with ss
Row 7 — Ch 1 and 1 sc in every stitch

Ch 7, start in 2nd stitch, skip 1 stitch  5 sc
Row 2 — Ch 1, 5 sc
Crochet this last row and the first row together with ss, to create a solid stem

Now you can sew them on your shawl or bag
